20th Hussars Cap Badge

A topic that has arisen recently is the Cap badge of the 20th Hussars and the letters/symbols in the centre of it.

I have tried to find out why there are 3 symbols within the xHx badge they are as follows:

The Diamond

The Letter O

The letter D

This is what I I have learnt so far by asking others:

The 1900 dress committee show the O in the centre which may refer to the title of Queens Own. It was later changed to a diamond.

Maybe the D is an earlier badge that refers to Dragoons?
