I have updated the pages on the Regimental Band including a new page on Bandmasters. https://atomic-temporary-82432135.wpcomstaging.com/bandmasters/ The website has also undergone some further changes due to the website being constantly attacked by spammers. I have had to turn off the comments section on all the pages to stop the attacks and hopefully prevent further insults … Continue reading Regimental Band
14th Hussars
Comments section
Unfortunately there are people on the web who find no greater pleasure than destroying things for others. Of late there has been this constant abuse/attack on the website where idiots think it is OK to post derogatory comments regarding veterans of the regiment mentioned on the site. Thankfully 99% of those comments are not viewed … Continue reading Comments section

Albert Ernest (Bert) Hurst
Born on 30 June 1888 at Kentish Town, Albert Hurst enlisted in the Hussars of the Line in 1908. Drafted to the 14th (King’s) Hussars in India, he served for five years with the Colours before returning home on being transferred to the Reserve.
xHx Poem
It would appear that the 20th Hussars had a poem? I have copied the words from the regiments Journal of 1921 and placed on a page, have to say I love it.
The 26th Hussars

The Emperor
The most treasured possession of the 14th King' s Hussars (then the 14th/20th King's Hussars) is "The Emperor " which is the Regimental name for the solid silver bedroom utensil of King Joseph Bonaparte of Spain, whose short reign began in 1808 and finished with the defeat of Napoleon's armies in Spain by the British and Spanish armies in 1813.
Medals of the Peninsular War
It is sometimes important to remember those that fell in past conflicts. This PDF is a section of the 1949 Hawk Journal and is a fascinating read. It starts like this: The Peninsular Battle Honours of the 14th/20th King's Hussars: Douro, Talavera, Fuentes D'Onor, Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Orthes, Peninsula (14th Light Dragoons) and Vimiera, Peninsula … Continue reading Medals of the Peninsular War
The 14th (King’s) Hussars
The movements of the 14th (King's) Hussars in India and the Middle East in the First World War were so closely followed by those of the 14th/20th King's Hussars in the Second World War that we considered a comparative article between the two Regiments might be of interest:
